Swift child photocard

A Swift photocard is a plastic smartcard that has a photo on it. Only the person in the photo can use it.

Swift child photocards are for children over 5 and under 16.

On a Swift child photocard, you can load:

  • most child bus and tram tickets
  • train child season tickets

Child tickets are 50% off the adult rate.

        Using a Swift child photocard

On the bus, hold your card on the reader. Wait for the green light or beep.

On the tram, hand your card to the conductor. They will scan it for you.

On the train, hand your card to the conductor. You can also hold your card on the yellow reader to open entry and exit gates at stations.

Please note, managing your Child photocard is currently unavailable in the TfWM app. If you wish to make a purchase or anything else relating to your Child photocard, please go to the TfWM website using an internet browser.

In order to manage your child photocard, simply log in to your account that it's linked to.

If you try and register your child photocard, you will receive an error message that says 'this card belongs to someone else'. This is because the child photocard is already registered to your account and doesn't need to be registered separately.

You’ll need to renew the following 1-week, 4-week or term passes:

        • Bus
        • Bus and tram
        • Train
        • Network (1 week and 4 week only)

You can renew a pass online:

        1. Log into your adult Swift account

        2. Select Add or Renew next to the child’s Swift card number

        3. Find and purchase your chosen ticket

        4. Add the new ticket to the Swift card by using the TfWM app. This is called 'collecting'. You can also collect it at one of our on-street Swift Collectors.

If you pay by Direct Debit, your ticket will renew each month. You do not need to do anything.

You can buy tickets for a Swift child photo card:
